Covers the skills of good interviewing and is of value to both interviewers and interviewees.
It will show how to use an appropriate mix of questions and get the balance right between who does most of the talking.
Also covers using silences to your advantage, asking the correct questions and making sure that you don’t miss any out.
In addition to all of this, it will also show how you can sometimes understand what isn’t being said, through non-verbal communications and body language.
Participants will be involved in a number of exercises where they will be asked to play the part of interviewer and interviewee.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to apply their interviewing skills to a variety of situations – e.g. – coping with a difficult employee, discipline, poor performance, career review and being interviewed for a promoted post.
