Alastair – Director of Leading Edge Consultancy which he set up in 1993 after leaving Scottish Enterprise.
Over twenty-five years experience of working within a “Training” environment and also professionally qualified as a trainer. Has designed and delivered a variety of training courses for the public, private, educational and voluntary sectors.
Covers a wide range of training & development areas but specialises in those based around good communication skills.
Enthusiastic in all his work and has a large range of anecdotes to cover most topics that get raised during the courses.
Also involved in developing new coaching and mentoring processes and does one-to-one coaching as well for some clients.
Ian – A senior training consultant with Leading Edge Consultancy.
Initially specialised in helping small businesses grow and improve through “training” in a variety of areas, before moving into assessment and development work with Investors In People.
Has more than twenty+ years experience of working within a training environment and now involved in delivering a number of courses across all sectors mentioned earlier.
Not a clock watcher, Ian is always willing to linger on at the end of the day and offer advice, on a one-to-one basis, based on the wealth of experience he has accumulated over the years.
Backer – More than twenty-years in the private sector, selling and marketing products to the Public Sector (primarily the NHS).
Has a unique, wide and detailed understanding of the business needs of both these sectors.
Has the qualifications and experience that enable him to apply sound theory to the business problems of real companies.
Backer is an energetic and creative individual with great people skills and is regularly involved in training, development, and lecturing in marketing, sales, negotiating skills and motivational workshops.
David – Has worked in the financial services industry and the manufacturing, food, engineering and construction sectors.
Has several years experience in training and development, both as a corporate training manager and as a trainer/facilitator.
Particularly enjoys the areas of work that involve coaching and mentoring, people and performance management, leadership, personal and career development and managing change.
Experience also encompasses strategy and policy development and he has an excellent track record in achieving real results with measurable change.
Janey – Background is varied and covers Nursing, Management of a Nursing Home and Territorial Sales within the Healthcare Industry.
A hard working, independent and ambitious individual with a great deal of determination and commitment.
Enjoys training others and the ongoing self-learning and development which accompanies this line of work. A good communicator with broad based interpersonal skills Janey is able to adapt her style as necessary.
Enjoys and benefits from meeting new people and is happy to work on a one-to-one basis or with a larger group.
Rachel – Having just gained a First Class Honours Business Degree at Edinburgh Napier University – Rachel is the latest addition to our team.
Covers most of the Administration duties – is often the initial point of contact with clients – types up all the case studies, role plays, exercises and handouts.
Rachel is full of new ideas, is very innovative and also maintains our website.
She is a versatile, efficient and effective administrator.
